Took place on 5 September 1697. French warship, commanded by Captain Pierre s Le Moyne D Iberville s defeated the British fleet commanded by Captain John Fletcher. The result of this battle was the capture by the French trading-York, in Manitoba, British trading companies trading facility (Hudson s Bay Company).
